About the Farm

John and Shauna purchased Wood End Farm from John’s cousins in 2016. The mid-19th century bank barn on the farm was weathered, but its bones were still good. Even through the bushes and trees that had overgrown the farm, Shauna could see the vision of a beautiful wedding venue. In 2019, they found barn renovation specialist, Mark Unger, and made the decision to restore the barn. In 2020, while still in the early stages of the renovation, the historic farmhouse that pairs with the barn became available and they were able to add this to the vision as well.

About Us

Wood End Farm owners, John and Shauna Grantham, are both West Virginia natives. Shauna was born and raised in Randolph County and John grew up in Jefferson County on an 8 generation family farm a few miles from Wood End Farm. After graduating from separate universities, they married and worked a few years in Charleston, West Virginia, before John’s career led them to move to other states and abroad.

Establishing an event venue at Wood End Farm has been more than a fun and creative project. It has given the Grantham family a stronger tie to the state that they love and a home to return to someday. The thing they love most about the farm is the seclusion. Even though only a few minutes from town, Wood End Farm feels far from the chaos of today’s world.
